The funeral has taken place for a member of various sporting clubs in Hyndburn.

Ronald Lomax, of Catlow Hall Street, Oswaldwistle, passed away peacefully on August 4.

He was a welder and worked for various companies including Rothwells, Conveyor & Elevator and Stuart Engineering.

In his spare time and during his retirement the 87-year-old enjoyed all kinds of sport, especially football, cricket, watching darts and playing snooker. He was also a member of many local clubs too, including Oswaldtwistle Immanuel Cricket Club, Church Cricket Club, Immanuel Bowling Club and Oswaldtwistle Conservative Club. He also loved going away on holiday and has travelled all over Europe, as well as Florida and New Zealand.

He sadly leaves behind his children Garth and Suzanne, son-in-law Chris, grandchildren Samantha and Jack and his dear sister Joyce. For more information contact Regan and Hallworth in Oswaldtwistle.
