Poppy Playtime: How to Get the Red GrabPack Hand

What good is a GrabPack with one hand? Here’s where to find the red hand in Poppy Playtime.

Poppy Playtime’s iconic blue mascot may look huggable on the surface, but there’s a twisted side to this overgrown toy. One of the latest hit horror indie games, Poppy Playtime drops players into an abandoned toy factory where previously employees mysteriously vanished without a trace. 10 years have passed after the incident when the player character receives a VHS tape, instructing them to “find the flower.”

Once inside the building, players will find other VHS tapes containing instructional videos intended for new employees. One of these contains instructions on how to use the GrabPack, a device that allows players to use two extendable hands to grab and pull things from afar, interact with switches and even create wires to complete circuits. But this model of the GrabPack is missing the right red hand, which can be found by completing a puzzle.

After obtaining the one-handed GrabPack and entering the Playtime Co. toy factory proper, players will be welcomed by the large and imposing figure, Huggy Wuggy. In this main room, there are two doors. To the left is a door with a blue hand symbol above it, and to the right is a door with a blue and red symbol.

Using their only available hand, players will need to extend the GrabPack towards the blue icon above the left door to proceed. However, this causes a short circuit and power must now be restored for the player to progress. Huggy will now be holding a key in his raised hand that players can collect to enter the electrical room.

Restoring power is a simple enough task. Players will need extend their blue hand to the door, with the high voltage label above it, to create an electrical wire and wrap the wire around the two rods in the same room. The power will be back, but Huggy is gone.

Next, players will need to travel down the colorful hallway with blocks at the end to a door labeled 05. Continue down the darkened corridor to the door on the opposite end and head up the metal stairway. Players will be met with a panel with four empty slots beneath four colors: red, blue, yellow and green.

There is a block that can be picked up directly to the left of the panel and players can insert this into the corresponding blue switch. The remaining three fuses are randomly generated and will be in different locations per playthrough, but it is safe to assume that they will be somewhere in the lower section with the conveyor belt. Open the sliding door to return to the stairs and place the fuses into the control panel to turn on the crane. The red hand for the GrabPack will be lowered onto the conveyor belt, where players can now retrieve it to complete their gear. But there’s still so much more to see in at the Playtime Co. factory, so take both hands and get exploring.

Poppy Playtime is available on PC, iOS and Android.
